Furthermore, newer doors come with more improved security features, helping to improve the way you protect your home and loved ones. While older doors are easy to break into, whether through breaking the lift mechanism or even using a universal garage door remote, new doors come with many redundant security features, which will go a long way in deterring even the most ingenious burglar.

Carriage: These doors mimic the look of doors found on old carriage houses in the days of horses and buggies. Because of their rustic look, they are often favored in the West and Southwest of the United States. The doors swing open like oversized French doors and hang from jambs on hinges. With their unique look, they create an area of visual interest for your home and are quite energy efficient. The downside is they require a considerable amount of clearance to work properly. Because most carriage garage doors are largely composed of wood, you may need to replace deteriorating or rotting door materials. The average cost for carriage garage door repairs is $133.
Great service! Initial call was for garage door opener repair on a very old Lift Master unit. Unit needed to be replaced, as well as old springs and cables. I decided to get new rollers too at the last minute. Technician, Matt (Matthew), was great. Very knowledgeable and professional. I'm glad the other "local" garage door repair shop never returned my phone call. Will definitely use Precision for all my Garage/Garage Door Opener needs. Will also recommend them to my neighbor who is thinking about getting a new garage door.
I discovered that the RF transmitter in the smart hub is fairly weak. While your car can transmit a signal a half block away, the smart hub can't. The instructions make a recommendation for placement of the smart hub but will make an explicit statement here - install it within the 4-6’ “recommendation”. Consider this when planning your installation. Apparently, orientation is important for maximum reach. If it doesn’t work reliably, flip it 180 degrees on its mount. Finally, like other garage door remotes, if it loses power you might have to re-program the system with the garage door learn button. They don’t tell you this so I will.
We've seen many garage doors off the track, and in some cases, on the family car. When the garage door system is not functioning optimally, the rollers and tracks can bend, and you may end up with a mess in the garage. If the garage door is salvageable, let us come and safely reinstall the garage door and make sure it won't happen again. Unfortunately, the damage to the family car will have to go through your auto insurance.
What do you get when you find a damaged garage door repair provider you can trust? At King Door, we never recommend repairs that aren’t totally necessary, and we are open and honest about when it’s best to consider a full replacement.
I would like to thank you for the outstanding service I received from your company. Your technician, James, was friendly, courteous, and extremely knowledgable about what needed to be done to return my garage door to a safe operating condition. In addition, the service was completed within 24 hours of my request, at no additional cost. I enthusiastically recommended Precision and will definitely contact you in the future should I require garage door service!
Install the stiffening strut on top of the top section of steel doors with the section lying flat. Then install the opener bracket that replaces the center bracket between the top two sections. While you’re working on the sections, protect them from scratches by putting carpet scraps on top of your sawhorses. Now, slide the rollers into the roller brackets.
Your dream car is parked in out of the elements, but it's not secure because the garage door won't lock. Most garage doors have two horizontal bars that move out from the center of the door into slots along the side of the door in the door track, effectively locking the door in place. Over time, these bars can shift slightly out of position so that they are no longer correctly aligned with the locking slots. To realign the bars, unscrew the guide brackets on the edges of the door so that they are loose enough to move, and then reposition them so that they smoothly guide the locking bars into the locking slots. Lubricate the lock mechanism with machine oil and you're done.
Measuring garage door torsion springs is precise, technical work. It often stumps experienced machinists, engineers, and garage door service technicians. In the door business, we often make mistakes ordering springs. The standard joke is that we'll use them as boat anchors, but you may not have a boat! Click to learn how to avoid ordering a boat anchor.
With hundreds of moving parts that are all required to work together, it's no surprise that garage doors may need occasional repair and maintenance. Garage door repair services are also required in emergency situations, like when the garage door won't operate and the car is trapped inside or you've accidentally backed into the door when it was closed. Whether it's a specific repair of your garage door opener, a broken spring that needs to be replaced, or a bent or rusted track, The Home Depot's local, licensed service providers can get the job done quickly and efficiently.
